Very cute and functional "Mr Salt & Mrs Pepper" stoneware salt and pepper shakers. Salt and pepper comes out of their eyes. Believed to be designed by David Gil in the 1960s produced for Bennington Pottery of Vermont and distributed by Raymor- not signed.

Made in Italy for the Metropolitan Museum ceramic blue Hippo. Extract from the museum's web site ..."William" is a bright blue hippopotamus just under 8 inches high located in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Egyptian galleries. He is made of faience, a ceramic material that is fired at a high temperature, and is decorated with lotus blossoms, which represent the hippo's creative forces in nature. An Englishman, Captain H. M. Raleigh, and his family owned a picture of the hippopotamus, which they named William. In 1931 the captain wrote an article for the magazine Punch about his picture of William. The name caught on, and since that time the little blue hippo has been known as William to almost everyone.

Super vintage two tile wall hanging depicting a man on a horse by Greek ceramicist and writer - Panos Valsamakis (?-1986) (ÐÜíïò ÂáëóáìÜêçò). Great colors backed on board with simple wood frame. Each tile is 4-ins by 8-ins.

Tapio Wirkkala (Finland) for Rosenthal Studio Linie (Germany) two person teapot. Produced in both black and white porcelain, this one in “porcelaine noire” with wooden and silver-plated handle. Primarily in matt black except for high gloss glaze to top of lid and the interior of pot. Rare – despite being produced from 1963 to 1975. (Example in Finnish glass museum).

Blue Marcello Fantoni (Italy) Shoulder vase. This one has an owl on the front and a modern symbol on the back. This one has a smooth blue glaze that we haven't seen before. Most have a drip glaze. A very few have an abstract incised pattern but this is the first we have seen with an animal figure.

Toshiko Takaezu super cantelope sized "rattle" vase from her "Makaha Blue” series. Glaze treatment is very abstract with splashes of green, brown, light, medium and electric blues. Signed on the bottom with the artist's cipher.
