Austin Enterprises 1962 Chess Set and board - Item(#1206)

Largest of two modernist styled extruded aluminum chess sets designed by Austin E Cox for Austin Enterprises and manufactured by the Alcoa Aluminum Company in excellent condition. The pieces range in height from 3.75-ins tall pawns to 4.75-ins tall Kings and Queens. The white pieces are in natural aluminum while the black pieces are black anodized on all their non-cut faces. All pieces have their bases stamped with “© 1962 Austin Enterprises”. This set comes in it’s original two and a half feet long wooden (wall mountable) presentation display case with blue Plexiglas sliding lid and includes the original matching heavy aluminum framed blue chess board.

Condition Report: Pieces, case and board all in very good original condition.
