Unusual vintage cast metal box with two thin cork lined compartments and teak veneer inlaid strips on the lid. Probably a cigarette box? At 4-lbs in weight it feels too heavy to be aluminum and is more likely stainless steel. It is unsigned and we can't find anything else like it.

Picquot Ware (England) TB and JB tea and water jug/coffee pots designed in 1948 and 1949 respectively. Made of a highly polished aluminum magnesium alloy (one piece castings - machine finished) with wooden handles. These probably manufactured after 1960. (Manufacture of this range just re-started at the end 2005).

The smaller orange and purple birds each have their original boxes. The larger blue bird has no box. Available separately or get all three to make a vintage mobile.

Vintage large sized dense black plastic tray from Couroc of Monterey California featuring a very cool cat in a scarf. (Very functional piece as apparently impervious to alcohol, boiling water and cigarette burns). Cats eyes and whiskers are brass inlay body and stripes are wood inlay.

Large 1970s vintage MOD white plastic made in the USA Seth Thomas pedestal alarm clock unused in original box (new old stock). The second hand is a silent sweep and alarm is a buzzer that can be disabled. Runs on 110-V mains power.

Japanese craftsman made by flatware manufacturer Tsubame Shinko Kogyo salt and pepper shakers from a series designed by Takenobu Igarashi as part of the Y,M.D initiative to sustain Japanese artisan craftsmen in some of Japan's oldest industrial workshops. Received the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization's (JIDPO) Special Good Design Award, and are in Munich, germany's staatliches Museum fur angewandte Kunst and the Israel Museum's permanent collections. Comes in original box and documentation.
